Glaxo Smith Kline will now start selling its diet medicine Alli directly to consumers starting June 15th, 2007.

Some 400,000 starter kits of weight-loss pill alli (low-dose Xenical) are being shipped to US pharmacies, grocery stores and retailers around the United States in preparation for the June 15th launch.

The pill regimen will cost roughly $55 for a one-month supply of the 60 mg pills. FDA has approved this over-the-counter version of the Glaxo's Orlistat prescription diet medicine.
