Unfortunately 2 years ago I was injured at my job while picking up something that was obviously heavier than I could handle . As a forty-eight year old woman there weren't many opportunities for employment for a ailing middle aged woman. Being a recently divorced woman with not a whole lot of education background to fall back on, I was and really still am in a bad spot. When the accident happened I expected to get some help in the way of Workman's compensation, but again I was disappointed they only sent $548 for 6 months that isn't even enough to live on let alone provide one's self with proper health care. I had been a hard working, well-liked, and devoted cook for years, but when I got hurt those years seem to have been erased and I could get help neither here nor there. As we all know the expense for a middle aged woman with back problems, recently diagnosed with diabetes and with a family history of heart trouble insurance would be well out of my reach, not including the fact I still hadn't been cleared by my doctor to work (Even if I could work it would still be out of my reach). So for the last two years I have been sitting in lines for hours on end to see a doctor at the charity hospital in my city. It would help me tremendously to have this discounted medicine so I could actually afford ALL my medicines when I need them, instead of having to wait until I could afford them.
