My name is Mollee and I was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in March of 2006. I had dealt with the chronic symptoms for about a year earlier. The outcome of maintainence for the disease was to receive infusions every 8 weeks in an outpatient center at the local hospital (the infusions cost $2,000 each). During the time that I was experiencing symptoms, I had health insurance through Medicaid, and was able to undergo doctors visits at a low cost. The company removes you from their insurance when you become 19, and on June 26, 2006 (my birthday), I recieved a letter in the mail stating that I was removed from having health insurance. Since then, I have had to have many doctors visits, along with prescription medications, while also having to go to the emergency room on June 21, 2007 because I had not been receiveing infusions due to the high cost. I now am supposed to be having regular doctor's visits, while those too are expensive along with the infusions. I am up to my face in medical bills, cannot get insurance because no company will accept me because of the disease I have with its high costs, and I have nowhere to turn. Please help.
