I have also been diagnoised with crohn's diseas, I was about 21 yrs old, and like one of u stated u were to embarrassed to tell anyone u had blood in your stool, well for a minute I was the same way, but until one day the pain got so severe I had to tell someone and get some help. My family would always tell me it was just in my head so much until for a while I believed it even after the pain and bloody stools, I still let it went on for 2 yrs before I got some help. I had to have an emergency surgery, and after surgery I was my ole self again until feburary 12th 2007 I had my first flare up since 1997 ten yrs into doing so good to not so good. Well right now I am in pain because I ate a candy bar with some peanuts. My advice to you is not to eat anything like nuts, corn, basically anything that want digest it self. I am still trying to get control of my eating habits. But one thing I can say is I'm not really fat, but I have a big stomach and is very unhappy with it. I do good with my disease from time to time. I admit I don't always do what I'm suppose to but I make up for it sooner or later. I'm much better because we all have one life to live, if we don't take care of ourselves no one else will.
