Recently I've found out about North Korea's vast human rights crisis and have to been shocked, to say the least. North Korea lacks any and most of the freedoms that we take for granted today. The North Korean government claims to provide universal health care but yet the country suffers from measles, malaria, SEVERE malnutrition, and a reported 40,000 new cases of TB each year. For a country of 23 million and for a government that purportedly provides universal health care, to have 40,000 people suffer from complications of TB and malnutrition, is a disgrace.
