Hi my name is Maria Velazquez and I'm 20 yrs ans live in las Vegas Nevada I am married and have 2 small children my son Beto Jr. id going to be 3 and my baby Angel just turned 1yr. My story begins last year when pregnant with my 2nd child I began to feel really sick. Not like with my 1st child, I mean really sick. by the time I was 5 months pregnant I began to go to the emergency room only because I knew that my body was not felling good, no matter how times I went and they kept telling me that it was the pregnancy and I was fine and they kept sending me home. Finally my sister-in law Barbara told me taht she would go with me. By that time I was already in my last month. At first they said that I was fine but once they kept me there I knew something was wrong.I had te baby and they finally told me that I have LUPUS. I had no idea what that was. Now it's been a year. and I have been in and out of the hospital none stop. lucky enough I' ve been released sooner or later which means that I could be worse. I've been in the hospital for months at a time and I have even had to go trough dialysis. It's not fun/ I never tought that I would be sick like this at me age. But Thank God that I am stable, at least helath wise I am. Financially it's sooo hard to pay for all the medications that I have to take. I am really hoping that my story will really help me get free benefits because with 2 small babies it's really hard. I can't work cause one day I may be ready for a 14 hour shift and another day I may not be able to get out of bed at all. I try my best to do what I can but it's those days which I can't evenm do anything that bothers me and all I can say is that at least the worry about meds off my mind can really be good for me. So all I can do is be strong & have faith. I hope that I can get any kind of help from this program every little counts and for every little I an greatful. like I said my name is maria Velazquez and I have just told my story. I;m STRAONG, THANK YOU !!
