Mr. X is my colleague and friend. On the last Thursday he had some allergetic problem and severe itching through out the day. So we called a skin specialist and fixed an appointment with him. We went there, consulted with the doc and bought medicines from the pharmacy in the clinic. After we came back Mr. X checked the medicines matching with the prescription and found that there were 4 items in the prescription but only 3 were given.

Next morning he went to the pharmacy and talked to the woman who was in the reception.

"I bought some medicines from here yesternight. When I checked the pack at home, I found that there are only 3 items, but there are 4 in the prescription".

"Have you missed the fourth one in the way back home sir?"

"No way! I am sure there were only three. You must have missed it."

"Well, we are sorry if its our fault sir. Usually this doesn't happen. Sorry for the inconvenience. Could you please show me the prescription so that I can check the fourth medicine?"

"Sure, here it is".

Mr. X gave the prescription and the woman went inside. But she came back immediately to ask him "you said there were four items in the prescription?"

Being totally fed up Mr. X asked back, "CAN'T YOU SEE IT IN THERE?!!"

Woman replied, "Well, yes sir. But the 'fourth item' asks you to come back and meet the doctor in 10 days!!"

Mr. X stood open-mouthed while the woman began to laugh.

[Okay, the dialogues are a little spiced up, but the incident is real. :-) Mr. X must be reading this by now and might come to my desk tomorrow to declare war.]

Do you have any similar prescription stories to tell? :-)

PS: I also had checked the prescription but couldn't understand that the fourth one was not a medicine.
