I've had asthma ever since I was a kid and never had trouble getting medications because I was on my parents insurance. When I became in eligible to be on their health care plan I couldn't afford to get medication. So I just let it go for two years and I was alright until one month ago when I caught a cold. For two weeks I couldn't breath without coughing afterwards and I was wheezing. I decided to sign up on my employers part time insurance plan and was able to go to a doctor. He prescribed me the same medications as before Advair Diskus and Singulair and within a few days the symptoms went away. The problem now is that my prescription benefit on my health care plan has a maximum amount allowed and the first two medications I took used all of my benefits. So now again I can't afford my medication. So I'm hoping by doing this and signing up for the free medicine program that it will help me out so I can get my medications.
