In February of 2005, my husband had a heart attack. He had
been healthy and never had to go to a doctor. He had been
feeling very tired the day before, and slept most of the day.
I have a house of health impaired children with ADHD and
keeping the house quiet since he did not feel good was not easy.
But, I did. He had chosen not to eat dinner that night either.
The next day, the children and I were on our way out the door
to go to church. When dad got up out of the chair to join us
he stumbled into the desk. As he continued to move his chest
began to hurt real bad and he fell to the side. He immediately
complained of overall weakness, his face began to loose
color. I suspected he was having a heart attack or something
similar. I reached to call 911, my husband grabbed his keys and
stumbling up and staggering as he walked, walked outside. As I tried hard to get him to go back into the house, he informed me he was going to drive himself to the hospital. Having not driven a standard transmission in 8 years, I was not sure I could drive, but I knew he was not! I managed to get him to hospital quickly. On the way, he screamed with chest pain, upon arriving to the Emergency Room I left him in the car and ran into the ER to security booth. I begged him to help me. He got a wheelchair immediately, and put my husband in it. As he was wheeling my husband to triage room, he grabbed his chest, yelling and fell out of the chair. The security guard called for help, claiming he thought he was having a heart attack. Doctors and nurses came running. They were able to stabilize him and save his life. What bothered me, was this was the third similar event in less than 10 minutes, and he had never been ill to suggest that he would be a candidate for Heart Problems! Now my husband has a lot of Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure,Cholestrol buildup, depression and no Health Insurance. We are over in income,
on everything I apply for and poor enough not to afford anything
