I'm not quite sure what this website is about, but I am curious, so here goes! This is quite personal- I have been suffering for many years from depression & anxiety- situational & chronic. It can range from low grade to severe.

Throughout the past 10 years, I have turned to substances to "relieve" the pain or try to manage it- this didnt work, and obviously led to many problems in my personal & working life.

I was taking prescription painkillers- I should not have been taking them, but I did for back problems. I had already quit drinking a year and a half ago, and during the summer of 2007 started with the pills. Eventually I went back to drinking as well & life became awful.

I found out about a medication called Subutex. I started taking it in January, and I have been sober ever since. The medication prevents withdrawal from opioid meds, but also vastly reduces cravings- for me it has also worked for the alcohol & is helping me tremendously with the depression too. Apparently there are studies being done on this drug and its effect on depression.

The issue is this- The program I am in costs $300/ month for unlimited Doctor visits. It does not include medication. I do not feel ready to stop taking it- the benefits are too great. I feel alive for the first time. For 10 pills it cost $53. I take 5/day.

I take Subutex- most patients are prescribed Suboxone which is cheaper, but I am allergic to it. There are prescription assistance programs for Suboxone but not Subutex (same manufacturer).

A lot has been going on- I feel quite stressed out- I also have something else going on that I am unsure about with my skin- possibly food allergies? I have been getting hives since last year, which have led to some horrible skin infections, including MRSA.

Due to being ill so much, I lost my job.

I have alot on my plate- and I just wish that I could get some help- I am trying to help myself. I want to just live my life! Story goes here
