Single Mom Trying To Pull Life Together (6)
I am a single mother, currently 28 years of age and I have a son currently 5 years old. Since I can remember I was never really at peace, I always felt like I was doing something wrong, even if I actually wasn't. By the time I got the chance to be free from an abusive home, I was in the process of becoming a mother myself. Many things took a downward spiral. I lost the support of friends and most of my family. For three years of my son's life I admit I resented him. But as time went on, I found out that I wasn't the only person feeling this way and that there was in fact help out there. 2 years later, I am still getting help by looking up things on the internet and meeting people who have felt like I have. As for my son and I, he is my saving grace. In the midst of everything that has happened he is still joyful and affectionate and when I am at my lowest he comforts me. I am not where I would love to be, but I am glad I haven't given up like I tried so many times to do in the past. My son needs me and I need to keep getting help so I can be here for him. I know this isn't the brightest story but I just wanted someone out there to know that if their story is similar, you are not alone.
