I am 27 years old and for the most part I have never had any health problems. All of my troubles started around April 2005. It was then that I decided to have my IUD removed and have a child with my now ex boyfriend. i never got pregnant and we broke up that September. I went back to my doctor and decided to get put on birth control. After discussing many options we decided to try the Depo shot. I was on the shot for 3 months when I came on my period and it did not stop for 6 months. I was taken off the shot and put on birth control pills. My troubles did not stop there. I started having pains on my left side and my period was still not normal. After a series of ultra sounds it was determined that I had a Dermoid Cyst inside of my left ovary. The cyst was monitored for a year and a half and in May 2007 it was decided that I would have surgery to have my ovary removed. In June 2007 I went in for surgery and apparently when the doctor went inside he discovered that I was in worse shape than originally thought. It turns out that in addition to the Dermoid Cyst I also have cysts in my right ovary, endometriosis, and fibroid tumors in my uterus. I was put on hormone pills in addition to my birth control and sent home. Since then I am in a lot of pain, I pass huge blood clots that I didn't before, and my flow is so heavy that it makes it hard to work and function without bad accidents. I endure this every month. I just had to leave work this past Friday because of this. I went through a tampon and 2 pads all at once! I was delivered another devastating blow when I was told that I no longer have Medicaid because I work and make "Too much money". I don't have access to my medicines now because when I went to pick up the refills I was told they would cost me nearly 100 dollars! I am a single working mom and i have no idea what I'm supposed to do now. Story goes here...
