I have had severe pain in both my knees for 3-4 years. In order to obtain coverage for my surgery, I had to get a COBRA ins. plan, which was not cheap. A few months after obtaining my COBRA plan, i went through with the dual surgery for my knees. Everthing went well for the first week, then my right knee expanded to the size of a basketball. My left knee was fine, but my right knee had obviously several issues. Something went wrong in the surgery, as my knee was like this for months. I had to have fluid drawn every week or so and undergo several months of nasty physical therapy. Eventually my knee swelling went down, but my right knee has never been the same. Now after several hundred, possibly thousands of dollars, my knee is worse than before the operation. The problem was labeled dual plica syndrome.
