I recently shared a small portionof my story about how I have Rheumatoid Arthritis which is a crippling disease, and medicine only slows down the inevitable. Anyhow since I was diagnosed I have fought with Social Security Disability to draw on my father since I am only 23 and I was 18 when diagnosed and didn't have enough work history to draw on myself. So I continually fought with them since 2003. I finally got a court date in late 2005, in the meantime I got married to my childhood sweetheart and although he tries to provide for me there is just not anyway we could live on just his income so I continued in my efforts that I had already began and went to court, at the court I informed the judge and my lawyer was already aware that I was married, the judge says it doesnt matter. He did however tell me that I needed to get my name change and after about an hour the court was over and about a month later I received news that the judge found me fully favorable, but the problem was that the Social Security disagrees. They say that since I am married it is my husband's responsibility to take care of me and the only way to be eligible is to get pregnant, my husband would die, I get a divorce or if I would have married a man over 55. So after getting the checks that I was rightfully entitled too they want me to pay them the money back. This has been so hard to understand and no one will set down and talk with you they just spend there time cutting you down and calling you a lier and making you question yourself. So my plan is to write a letter to congress and make others aware of this. My father has passed away before all this came about but I know he would roll over in his grave to find out that this has happend and I honestly believe that something should be done because a little girls dream is to get married and not to someone twice there age I think this needs to change if nothing else but for others who need it and for the future of America
