I found out at 5 weeks I was pregnant with my son. I craved lots of weird foods such as pickled eggs, hot sausages, and milk together. I lost quite a bit of weight with him but still ended up with gestational diabetes. I was put on glucaphoge twice a day. With random sugar tests and often doctor visits I made it without any serious problems. When I went into labor I was only 35 weeks and 6 days. Technically he was only a week and one day early. He ended up having feeding problems and he had yellow janduas. They poked his little heals so many times and the day his billi ribbon was so high I had to leave him under the uv lights and they only thing I was able to do was feed him and diaper him for one entire day! The also increased his calories in his formula to get the janduas out of his system quicker. We ended up staying in the hospital with him for six days and five nights. To feed him we had to force his tongue down from the roof of his mouth so that he would suck his bottle! Once he came home he slept in his car bed because he was so tiny weighing only 5 pounds and 9 ounces. He was eighteen and a half inches long. I was in labor with him for twelve hours and eighteen minutes. I had to have one stitch. I remember this day as if it were yesterday but the eighteenth of this month he will be two years old. Where has the time gone?? I remember at about two weeks old he held his bottle on his own. He started crying mama at two months old. My doctor was doctor Bruce Jackson! My experience with him as my doctor was a great and fun experience. I looked forward to going to my doctor's appointments with him. There was this nurse and her name was Shannon also how funny is that?? A nurse with your name. I miss everyone at the office and if I had it to do all over again I would do it in a heartbeat with no doubts about it. Thank God for a great pregnancy and a beautiful son to boot. I love you Jonathan with all of my heart and I want everyone to know!!
