tttttttt My inspiration for getting fit and taking control of my diabetes is my 3 year old daughter, Victoria. She was born in 2004 and I was 41 years old. I never thought I would have any children of my own and had given up a little bit on life. Don't get me wrong, I have two fantastic boys thru my marriage to a wonderful women. My oldest is 22 and in college, my youngest is 19 and in college and I feel I had a lot to do with them being where they are today. But a child of my own, I had lost all hope and gave up. With her birth, I felt a new youthfulness about my self. The months leading up to the birth, the incredible birth I had only heard about, the first time holding her in my and crying tears of joy for what I had given up so easy on. Thats when I new it was time to do something about my life and life style. Diagnosed with diabetes in 1998, right after my mom passed from complications due to diabetes, I had give up. Now, I have to live to be there for her, to help her learn to take care of herself, to watch her grow up and marry someday and hopefully be here to hold my grandchildren. I have since lost 77 pounds and continue on my journey to better health. I still have a ways to go now that I'm at 316 pounds. But I refuse to give up ever again. The problem now is I'm a daycare teacher and the salary is terrible as well as the insurance company they deal with. I right now have a prescription for my insulin's that cost me on average $570. 00. That I can not afford. So instead of giving up, I decided to try to live without it by eating properly and exercising more. All I can do at this time is fight to work thru this and not give up. Everyday I look at Victoria and she is my inspiration to continue getting healthy. Life is good no matter what is thrown at me. I'm ready.
