Work hard all your life, save and look forward to great retirement.....Have you heard this before and used it as life's model? We have and now are considering taking a job just to pay for our health insurances. Both my wife and I wanted to retire early and travel while our health was good. Now, because of the high cost of insurance we can't travel and must consider other alternatives. We don't like the idea of national health insurance and having the federal government control our lives more than they do now. We don't know enough about state programs and our state doesn't offer one anyway. So were TRAPPED in the under 65 GAP. We are in that gap between early retirement before medicare and the TRUE retirement age of 65. We know the government can't offer anything more than social security and medicare without going broke quicker than it will if nothing is done to help fund the present programs. One suggestion is to take a closer look at the profits made by drug companies, health care and insurance organizations among others. If inflation was controlled by these companies giving up just a small portion of their profits I am sure our TRAP GAP could be less burdonsome. Also, we must stop some of these frivilous law suits and lawyers growing rich by suing doctors, etc. Don't you just love those TV ads????? Also, come on state governments we need your help and your help now.
