Well, due to my back injury, I have paresthesia...my legs and feet tend to go numb or tingle, and sometimes my legs just give out on me. I've had 3 falls in the past that hve resulted in E.R. visits, a sprained wrist and thumb, a nasal fracture with eye and brain trauma, and now I have a broken foot. I just broke one bone, and it happened when my left leg gave out as I was going downstairs, so I slammed my right foot down but with was numb at the time, and I ended up slamming it down on the side and CRACK! I waited 8 hours before going to the hospital. I didn't think it was broken, but when I still couldn't put any weight on it, or walk even just on the heel, and I couldn't move my pinky toe without severe pain, I knew something was wrong. So here I am 3 weeks later, the Dr. removes the cast and takes x-rays, and then I get recasted because the bone isn't healing. Now if it doesn't heal after the next 2 weeks in this cast, I may be looking at having to pay for surgery to have a screw put in the bone, according to my Dr. My back injury has taken over my life, and has control over my future. It just keeps getting worse, and I have no options left...not even surgery will help me, so I'm stuck. I thought I'd be so much further in life by the time I turned 30...which will be in 8 months. I've always been hopelessly optomistic, but in the last 3 years I've truly lost the person I used to be. I've even thought about letting my husband go because I don't want to hold him back in life. I was injured just over a year after we were married, and I have 2 wonderful step-children, but being the youngest of 11 children, my husband wanted to have more children, and I always wanted children of my own...I just don't think it will ever happen. Not unless there's some miracle cure for me.
