Considering my age,I have experienced as much as one who is 3 times my age. I left college my junior year to help my mother care for my grandfather. After his death I started a job working at a nursing home as a CNA. Then all of a sudden I started having trouble with my back. Not thinking that it was really serious,I would take two BC's and about three ibuprophens,in order to get myself out of the door and make it to work. The more severe the pain got the more BC's I took.
It had gotten so bad,and I had taken so much of the medicine, until the lining of my stomach was inflamed. It would hurt just to drink water. Then one night I tried to pick my 2yr. old son up from the couch and put him to bed,and my back just snapped. After seeing the doctor and getting several test ran,I was taken off of work. My diagnosis was a herniated disk, slipped disks, multiple bulging disks, and degenerative disk disease. All of the specialists that I was sent to,had no explanation of how something like this happened. One doctor told me that my back was the same as a 70 yr. old woman. And that scared me considering how young I am. Everyday just getting out of bed is a struggle. And the only thing that keeps me from feeling sorry for myself ,is my son. He keeps my spirits high, because I know that in order for him to make it I have to as well. He is my inspiration.
