My husband endured a lot of stress over the past year, and I finally got him to agree to go to the hospital. He had been vomiting blood and had blood in his stool all or most of 2007. With much struggle with his job (he had to take vacation days just to get to the doctor) we finally got an Upper GI scope test, the first of 2 -- to see where his internal bleeding was coming from. Well, the doctor that we were recommended to, was not in our network, that means, you pay whatever they ask. I think the insurance paid only $23 and we were left with almost $800 in bills from this first test.

On a Monday, my husband's job demanded a letter from the doctor by that Wednesday stating the reason why he would need another day off, as they liked to work him hard, (26-days straight in August!). I was able to get the nurse to fax a letter to me stating that he had a GI Bleed and needed the colonoscopy test.

Before my husband could get this much needed 2nd test, scheduled for Dec. 3, his boss fired him and reported to unemployment that he quit so he couldn't get benefits.

In addition, my job ended in January. So here we are, both without jobs, trusting God for health and means to survive. Strangely, I've felt calm that the Lord will turn this situation around for us as we trust him to keep us safe, always in his loving and tender care. We will get through this, my constant pain and disabilities and his GI Bleed, we will be triumphant and strong! Glory be to God who provides all our needs. Confer not with flesh and blood, and the Lord will make a way for you to do his will (Gal. 1:16). The Lord will see us through the way of faith and obedience, if we are willing to walk in it. He will see to our way, if we dare to walk in his way (Pro. 3:5-6).

Indeed, the Lord will provide!
