I am 23 years old and have been very active all my life. I used to enjoy bmx biking, golfing, football, extreme snowboarding, baseball, wrestling. I am not a very thick and muscular person... and during my very active years I would constantly injure myself, especially my back. I noticed that something was seriously wrong with my back my junior year in high school. I was having trouble sitting through class because of the pain in my back. I kept telling myself to just suck it up. the discomfort and sleepless nights continued for a year before seeing my Dr. after a hard crash while snowboarding, I was told it was just a back sprain, and to put ice on it and the pain would go away. the pain continued for years. After moving out of my parents house and into my own apartment, I took a low paying job in a warehouse. I only weighed 140 lbs. at the time and was lifting washing machines. shower doors, stacks of tile on a full-time basis. It was killing me. I picka glass shower door up onw day and SNAP my back just went out. I went to the e.r. and was told it was just a sprain and the pain would go away. And now being in a new city I had not established a general Dr. until a year later. She recommended me to a specialist that offered an MRI which reveled 2 herniated discs/ degenerated disc disorder. I was put into pain managment and given a series of shots. Everything was starting to look up I was out of pain for the first time in over 5 years. Then when my mother wasn't doing to well and thoughts of getting engaged to my girlfriend crossed my mind, I planned to move down to Atlanta with my mom and save some money. Now i have lost my ins. and I'm paying for my medical expences out of pocket. My medication is very expensive along with the visits to the Dr's. So I am looking for some type of help with the expenses whole trying to find a job that will offer me benifits (hopefully that will cover my prexcisting condition)
