i had a sore and swollen and discolored and went to my local hospital about 15 minutes away. waited an hour and was seen finally by a foreign doctor. he looked at my thumb and said it was a hangnail... on the backside of my thumb! well i couldnt bear the pain and told him to check it and still said there was nothing wrong and sent me home. two days later the pain had migrated to my wrist and it was more swelledup so i went to a different hospital 45 minutes away because i dont have medical insurance or the money for a $70.00 doctor visit. the ER doctor ended up cutting my thumb open and culturing the greenish ooze that came out. 36 hours later the pain had migrated to my elbow. i had gotten a call saying i had MRSA staph infection. now i am on strong antibiotics that may or may not kill this super bug. a lot of pain and suffering could have been prevented if the first doctor treated me better and actually listened to me. now i fearing they may have to cut my thumb off or worse... my whole hand if the infection spreds any more!
