Was in a car accident december 2005. Didn't realize that I was injured, so didn't go to the doctor. The pain continued to get worse and worse...until it was excruciating. I ended up in the doctor's office seven days later. Not having health insurance, no one wanted to deal with me. The doctor didn't believe the level of pain I was experiencing, and gave me tylenot #3. MRI, xrays, and many medication changes...take me to the present. I have been bounced from doctor to doctor, until the universe reconnected me with an client I had not seen for a few years. She had just gotten married, and her husband is a pain management doctor. He has been my guardian angel. He is the only one who has given me continuity of care. Two years have passed, and I am now on a 50mcg fentanyl transdermal patch, and take oxycodone for breakthrough pain. I am always in pain, even with all the medications. I have used up my meager savings, have not worked for more than a year, and am being (completely) financially supported by two of my friends.

I have three herniated cervical discs, pts, pt full body fibromyalgia (gotten from poorly done cortisone shots)

The low inpact, accident, has taken away everything that I held dear and meaningful. I am no longer able to work (Reiki & Massage therapist), or do the hobbies that brought me meaning. (leather work, beadwork, drawing, painting, writing, hiking, backpacking, camping, gourmet cooking, baking) Writing this is increasing the pain from a 5 to a 7

Applied for ssd, and been denied, and am appealing. I recently fired my High end legal firm, they are not really interested in helping me, Through the love of another client, my new lawyer is heart connected.

I feel deeply grateful for the opportunity the accident has given me. I have learned to let go of pride, accept help, ask for help, and have come to realize that my worth is not based on what I am able to do, or how I am able to perform. It has stripped away illusion.
