I went on vacation to my daughter's home. I developed pneumonia and went to an emergency care clinic. They took a chest xrays and said I also had an enlarged heart and congestive heart failure. I was referred to a cardiologist by my family doctor when I returned home. The cardiologist did echo-cardiograms, EKGs and stress tests. They started me on Coreg and then followed up with repeat echos and stress tests last year. My condition has improved 10 percent and I also have controlled my blood pressure with Coreg. I have controlled my 4+ edema with Lasix. I am able to walk a longer distance, and I have less breathing difficulty also. When my cardiologist told me that this medication could heal the heart I really did not believe him. It seems he was right!
