I am a mother of three wonderful, outgoing boys. Having boys means having to stay on your toes and always being on the go.

Life wasn't always easy for me, and some days it was downright difficult for me to even get out of bed and get the day started. I suffered from depression. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. I had a great life, a great family, a great husband....but I just didn't feel "great".

I decided it was time to make an appointment with my doctor. After meeting with my doctor and having a short physical done, I was not only diagnosed with depression, but I also had an under active thyroid.

My doctor started me on an anti-depressant and a thyroid medication. At the time I had insurance, which was a good thing since my medication was extremely expensive. After starting my medication, I noticed a small positive change, but still wasn't feeling myself. As it turned out, my depression medication wasn't working for me. It took many months and many medication changes before I found one that worked.

Once my medication was straight, I found myself feeling like my happy, outgoing self again. I enjoyed activities with my family, was having fun, laughing a lot more, and I actually looked forward to heading out to all of the little league games scheduled for the season.

Well, have you ever heard the saying "All good things must come to an end"? I think we all have. Well, that saying became all too true for me. My husband lost his job, which means he lost all of his insurance benefits. It's bad enough trying to figure out how to take care of a family of 5, but having to worry about how to pay for medication was extremely worrisome for me. Without prescription benefits, there was no way I could afford to pay for my much needed medications.

I started researching the web for prescription assistance and found this website. I'm glad I did! I now have hope in knowing that I won't have to suffer bad health due to lack funds or insurance.
