For most of my life my father had me covered under his medical plan through is union but then my parents separated and got divorced and all of a sudden I found myself without any insurance as he decided to cut me off since I chose to live with my mother. The two of us have been struggling ever since to keep paying for my medicines which I take many for my major health problems. I am bi-polar and must be on medication all the time. I became extremely depressed just by the fact that these drugs cost a fortune and since we could not afford any medical insurance there were times that I would be off my medication for several weeks which caused severe withdrawal. It has been very hard for us and I just want to let everyone know that no matter what happens you will get thru it all. I had many times wanted to commit suicide but I knew that was only part of my bi-polar disorder and pushed forward. If it wasn't for a friend who told me about United Project, I don't know what I would have done because now I have some help to get my medicines and don't have to feel scared everytime I need a refill.
