It really sucks being 24 and suffering chronic pain on a daily basis. Here I have my entire life ahead of me and I feel like I am an old grandma. I have not had children yet or even gotten married yet, and I feel so weak, tired, unenergized. Since I have no health insurance and Medicaid will not approve me, I wake up each and every day suffering chronic back pain, muscle spasms, tension all over my body, migraines, etc. I cannot take this anymore. We are paying millions of dollars in taxes each year to pay for Medicaid for people who are not even citizens. I completely understand that people want to come to the United States for a better life, job, etc., but what I cannot comprehend is that us Americans who have worked very hard and paid so much in taxes cannot get help when they need it. We should be acknowledged and appreciated for how hard we work to maintain a good country, and when we need some help for a while, we should receive it. I want to get better and get back to work. I want to make a difference in society. I want to finish school and become a registered nurse, but how can I when I cannot get help to get back on my feet again? I need insurance so I can see a good doctor and be sent to an orthopedic surgeon so I can get surgery. I just want to not only be 24 but I want to feel 24. I am too young for this. I eat well, exercise, and follow necessary guidelines to health and wellness. It just really upsets me that Medicaid will not help me, but somehow they continue coverage for women who continuously pop out children. The state covers birth control so why don't they use it? I have no idea how people do it, but many are cheating the system and it is absolutely ridiculous and unfair. This is America and us citizens should get help if we need it temporarily. We work hard. We pay taxes. When our health goes downhill to a point where we are out of work, we should get help to get us back to being proud, hardworking Americans again. Sorry had to vent!
