At the age of 14 I was in an accident that left me with migraine headaches.. For this my doctor prescribed the drug Lortab for me to take on a daily basis. Though at the time I wasn't sure what an opiate was, I began to notice that I couldn't hold my head up at school
and felt really strange. After a while my mom researched the drug and found out that it was a powerful painkiller and had the medicine stopped. By that time however I was already addicted. By the age of 17 I had already moved on to stronger drugs such as Oxycontin and Morphine. At 21 I had my daughter and was clean the entire time that I was pregnant. After giving birth my OBGYN once again precribed lortab for pain after my daughter cracked my tailbone while in the birth canal. I was hooked again until I discovered Suboxone. To me this is a miracle drug. It stops the withdrawel symptoms associated with opiate addiction and also helps with cravings. My doctor will eventually wing me off of the medication and i will be completely substance free. If you or someone you know are dealing with addiction to opiates, I suggest that you check out the suboxone website to find a doctor in your area.
