Three years ago I suffered a stroke that left me paralyzed and unable to speak. After many weeks of therapy, I learned to walk and to use my right arm again. My memory is failing and I must take many medications that keep me alive. I started getting up every minute, not knowing why and waking up 5 times a night. They gave medication for agitation but I slept most of the day. They were going to put me in an Alzheimer's home until finally, a Neurologist made the diagnosis of Restless Leg Syndrome. They are treating me with Mirapex and although my leg still moves a lot, I can sleep through the night and I can attend Adult Day Care again. It was a miracle that the doctor made the diagnosis.
