At a young age of 43 I was diagnosed with a genetic COPD and Alpha-1, having been born with Asthma I thought that my not feeling well was due to the Asthma, after being on all the Asthma meds out there and over 120 mg of Predisone a day, I went into the doctor and said there must be more going on. After several tests it was determined that I had the above disease. Who knew you could get this even if you did not smoke,

I had to give up a Government Job which I held for 24 1/2 years to start getting treatment, that was difficult, but I have a 9 year old that I have to see grow up as there is no cure for COPD except Lung Transplant, which will be in the future, right now only have 37% of my lung capacity.

With support groups and info on the web, I hope I can get thru this, I have learned alot.
