I got into a car accident in 2004. I got surgery in 2006. The DR. left a staple in my back that caused MRSA Staff infection. That caused me to have 2 additional surgeries. After being on Intra venous anti-biotics for 22 weeks my MRSA now is dorment. I was told it could come back anytime and that I need another back surgery to fix my problem completly. I went to 3 different surgeons and all of them tell me it is to high risk to have surgery right now because of the threat of the MRSA staff infection reoccuring. Opps, I forgot to mention that the MRSA was in my spine and that they had to drain my spinal fluid and attached drains in my spine while I was in the hospital for over 40 days in the summer of 2006. I now receive SSI Disability and the little bit of money I get prevents me to be available for medicaid. I actually make to much to be accepted for medicaid. That is pathetic. So now more then half of the money I get goes to my prescriptions and now I am just adding up medical bills one after another. I need to go to the emergency room everytime my pain gets worse to get a shot or check my blood. If I have a fever for over 2 days it is possible that the infection could return. I heard I was eligible for medicare after being on SSI for 2 years. What am I to do in the mean time. I am looking for help. I hope you can help me.
Looking for help,
Brian Hanna
