A senior who has Parkinson's has a caregiver his wife and she put on her charge card $2,000.00 worth of prescriptions on their credit card. She was then informed that $600.00 worth of the medication he could no longer use because the Dr. was trying to figure out what medication to put her husband on. She could not give her husband that medication any longer. I asked if the Dr. could give her samples and the Dr. said no. They will have to continue purchasing the prescriptions until he finds the correct combination. They are not eligible for government assistance, but must continue to pay all their expenses plus the additional prescription costs. We are looking into patient assistance programs for her, but she is so overwhelmed it is difficult to get all the information to help her complete the forms. I will inform her of what I find out from your site, they do not have the Internet. We are assisting her with free referrals and research for various issues, modification of bathroom, care giving, letter writing, printing forms for her, car giving solutions, etc. They have no children and their families live out of the state.
