I lost my job in June 1, 07. I suppose to receive the papers from cobra a week after I terminated and never happen, I call HR and they told my they will call them again to send me a new papers, weeks pass and I did not hear anything. I call cobra direct and I spoke with a Rep. she ask me if I was interesting in having cobra and I say "yes of course I needed. She told me I will send the papers again and she verifed my addressto be sure everything was correct. To make a long story short I receive for the first time the papers from cobra at the end of July ( two months already pass from my last day at work on June 1)I fiil the form I mark what I want and I incllude the check. I call a few days after i sent the form and the lady told me it will take 7-10 labor days to don't worry that everything will be okay.
Weeks pass and I decide to call ( the end of august) to find out what's going on and the lady answer the call told me my services from cobra expire two days ago on August 29. I ask how that can happen and I explain everything been happen to me from the beggining . She told me because it was only two days to email Cobra (she provide me an email address) explaining everything happen from the beggining to this day ( the day i was talking to her) thing that I did and two week later I receive a letter from Cobra corporate tellig me to sorry but after they study my situation they decide they do not going to give me the services of Cobra because I never mention I want to have the services by phone...thing that I did the first time I spoke with the Rep. I even ask her the first time if I can pay by phone with my debit card and she told me no. She can add that I want the services but I need to send the form.
I have chronic migragne & back problem...of course I want to have Cobra...but they denied the services to me. I call Olga at HR at the Las Vegas Hilton to see if she can help me and they still say no.
Please I need help,right now I'm unemployment and no medical Ins
