My story is about my daughter, she was born at 25 weeks and weighed 1 pound and 5 ounces. She was also born with cerebral palsy, and epilepsy which causes her to have seizures. She spent the first four months of her life in the hospital and at times it didn't look good for her, she had some bleeding in her brain which caused her some mental delays, but she fought her way out and made it home. She is five years old now and her name is Laree. She has countless appointments from going to the neurologist to physical therapy, because of the cerebral palsy she cannot walk or sit-up on her own. She loves to laugh, sing and mimic things she hear, and she is a joy to be around. Unfortunately now I had to switch jobs and the position i'm in now i can't afford the medical insurance, so i'm looking for alternatives. The medicine she is taking for her seizures is $450 dollars per month and we can't afford that much, hopefully with her neurologist we can find an alternative to such an expensive medicine but we're doing all we can for her and will continue to do that. I don't want anyone to feel sorry for us because when people hear that i have a daughter with cerebral palsy they say "oh, I'm so sorry", she is the light of my life and i will go through whatever obstacles to make sure she is okay. It's probably not a lot, but i didn't think i was going to write this much sometimes it's good to tell someone what's going on in your life. Thank you for reading my story.
