I was in my first automobile accident about 3 months ago. I feel lucky because I am 28 years old and having my first car accident. It was such a beautiful day too, friday, noon, and I got off work early. Sounds like the perfect day and actually the perfect way to start the weekend. Oh did I forget to mention the vehicle that I was driving ( Since my engine blew up about 3 months ago) was a very close friend of my family's that we have known our entire life that had passed away about a year and a half ago from cancer. The truck will never be sold just loaned out when someone is in a rutt and needs a vehicle.
Ok back to my accident. So I am driving this truck (that is not mine) and am sitting at red light when the light turned green. I went to excelerate and all of a sudden I was slammed into from behind hitting the truck so hard that i actually hit the car in front of me. I was in shock, devastated and not sure what to do. As everyone got out of there vehicles and started exchanging information I just kind of stood there in a dream. Was this really happening? How does everyone just know what info to get? Isnt anyone else in the least bit in shock? Then come to find out the guy that hit me has been in now his forth accident in the last five months.
I was so upset. Why on such a perfect day would something this horrible happen? I turned very angry and upset. The entire way home I was so scared that I was actually angry.
When I got home in the midst of all my anger my best friend looked at me and said instead of being angry i should be happy that nothing serious happened to anyone involved and that we were all still here to talk about it. Right then i realized how selfish i was being and my weekend ended up perfect after all.
