My Grandmother's story started long before I was born. As it was told to me, her seizures began when she was 52, shortly after being struck on her head forcefully with the sharp edge of an attic door. From that point on, her life was filled with trips to the hospital emergency room, doctor visits and numerous prescriptions taken on a daily basis. The drugs clouded her memory and affected her judgment. She subsequently had several strokes over a period of years, then died nearly 4 years ago. The doctor's never specified a cause for her conditions. Although the family did everything they could to get her the best treatment available, she just didn't.
