At 49 years of age, I was very overweight, and knew that I needed to change my life in order to live longer. I made the decision to 1. work out, 2. change my eating habits, and 3. to involve my husband in my new healthy approach to life. We both joined a health club, where I amazed myself by reaching 2 miles a day on the treadmill. I dropped from 235.5 pounds down to 202, and am still dropping. I lost 9 dress sizes, going from 24 to 16. My husband is at a weight he hasn't seen since high school. And, we both now eat more healthy foods. We enjoy rice, stir fry, non-sugared cereal, Equal instead of sugar, Mrs. Dash instead of tons of salt. We no longer inhale bags of chips at the time in front of the TV. And we buy smaller packages of foods, or use smaller plates when serving meals. I switched from soda pop to Crystal Light. And my hubby drinks water instead of bottles of Mountain Dew. Now that I have a new look, I wish greatly for my health to match it. My glasses are over 9 years old, and I can hardly see clearly. I have stress fractures in both feet and am supposed to take PT once a week. I also have high blood pressure. And I haven't seen a dentist in years. But, my hubby cannot afford to cover me on his benefits at his job, and I am not working, having gone back to college for my degree in Criminal Justice. I am the first in my family to go to college, and already passed my first 2 classes with A's. Please help me to be the complete and whole, and healthy person I know I can be, as I go forward on my road to my new and more productive life. Thank you.
