Enlightenment clarifies like a bright sunny day. (1) (2)
Before enlightenment life is like driving through a thick fog where
you can barely see the road. Sometimes you can't see it at all,
sometimes you might see more, sometimes less but the big picture
escapes you.

No matter how clever you think you are, no matter how well educated or
well read or even what you believe you're still stumbling around in a
fog. Your own personal fog actually, where everything is at best a guess.

To say you believe in something is saying, I'm going to stop right
here and wait for my savior Jesus Christ to come along and save me
from this mess.

You're going to sit there a long time and your savior will never come.

That's because the only savior is you and if you don't do it, it will
never happen. To believe in an exterior person or God as savior is
placing blame outside yourself where it can never be resolved.

It's saying, why did you do this to me God, how could you let this happen?

I'm going to sit down right here and wait for you to save me.

How many lifetimes would you like to sit there, waiting?
Eventually it begins to dawn, we need to take responsibility for our
own lives.

We need to pick ourselves up by the bootstraps, as they say, and do
something, anything is better then nothing.
