My family and I are middleclass. I went back to school and got a master's degree. Upon graduation I couldn't find a job for over a year. During that time I became homeless. Using creativity and alot of hard thought I figured out how to stay clean, submit resumes and go to interviews. I got a small part time job and was able to keep my car. I was not able to afford my medications. I did not receive any government support because I fell through the cracks. I need medications for Diabetes, blood pressure and depression. Life is a struggle, fear of no medication is powerfully strong. I would find it a little easier to do well in interviews and pursuing employment if I had meds. Depression trys to keep you down. I am very proud of my positive attitude. I got it by just deciding the direction I was going to take was positive and not negative. It is still going strong, as is my ability to keep getting back up.
I just wanted to say that today there are all kinds of people (many who are really trying) that are out of work and homeless. We need medications to help us be successful as we can be. I am a fifty year old widow woman who still has lots to do and far to go. I believe life is worth the struggle and it is helpful to share.
