In January of 2007 I started becoming ill. I had flu like symptoms and I went to the emergency room because I fainted and was short of breath. I had a cat scan done which showed a mass next to my heart. For the next several months I went through test after test. I became to weak and ill to work, so financaily I became devestated. I lost everything my apartment, my car, my health, my insurance, and my freedom. I had to move in with my parents and younger siblings. I have been seeing various doctors to determine what is wrong with me. Finally I seen a cancer speacialist who thought I had cancer. It was very scary to think that I might have cancer next to my heart. I went through a surgery so that the doctors could obtain a biapsy of the mass. The good news at this point is that it was not cancer, the bad news is that no one knew what is wrong with me. After another month of tests my doctor determined that I was infected with a very rare fungal infection called Histoplamosis. I have a severe case of it. This fungus attacks my lungs, lymph nodes, and liver. I could die even after treatment. I some how got this infection by inhaling spores of the fungus. I now have to take a medicine that costs 171.00 per week for the genaric brand. Not only am I having extreme difficulty finding this medication but I cannot afford to pay for it. I have no money I am still off work untill this fingus is cleared. At this point I have taken one full bottle of my prescription and I have 5 more bottles to take. I have missed two days worth of medicine at this point because I cannot afford it. At 171.00 per bottle I need 855.00 worth of medicine to get me back on track. I am just hoping that there is someone or something out there that can offer me some help. Thank you,
Melissa
