After visiting with several different psychologists over the years as to try and find the root cause, or at least a simple understanding of my behaviors, I was referred to a psychiatrist that evaluated me for ADHD.

After a few visits, and long discussions, i was given a prescription for a drug called Adderall XR.

All I can say now, is that after taking this medication for a little bit over a year and a half, my life has most certainly changed for the better. I will not ever have any regrets in taking this medication, despite the very very few drawbacks to taking it. Not only have I lost weight, but my focus is sharp, and my memory is clear. I can hold coversations with people again, without feeling as though I'm going to forget what it was that we were talking about 75% of the way through the conversation. My attention to detail is like nothing I've ever experienced. it would have been so great to have had this years ago, when some of my more difficult life situations could have used its benefits.

With that, I am a happy user of Adderall XR. I would like to continue to use it, but as life deals its ups and downs, i'm currently in a larger life transition (a good one) but have been left without health insurance for the shorter term. It is an expensive drug to have to deal with when paying for it cash in hand. Caviet Emptor!
