I was 45 and in intensive care for malignant hypertension and stage 4 kidney disease, only the week before i had been a healthy adult. Within 2 weeks I had lost 40 lbs, and been prepped for surgery to place a fisutla and get ready for dialysis and placement on a kidney transplant list. Needless to say I was a bit freaked out. I have been living with the repercussions ever since. My eyesight is damaged, my heart is damaged and the doctors still have no idea what caused this ti happen. My hypertension in under controi with meds, my kidney function had improved enough that a year later I am still not on dialysis , but still far from normal. I am unsure what my long term prognisis is, I am just taking it a day at a time at this point. Its kind of scary not knowing what caused this all to happen and praying whatever it is doesnt occur again.
