I smoked for about 45 years and stopped with the help of Chantix. I did not smoke for 15 months. My youngest son which was 27 years old at the time passed away while only being in jail for 33 hours. I started back smoking and have been smoking for 15 months again now. On Christmas, I had a heart attack and had my other two children concerned about me. The dr let me come home from the hospital today after being there since Christmas night. The dr put me on five new meds for my heart which I have never taken before because to my knowledge I never had a heart problem in the past. I'm really having a tough time with this smoking issue, my daughter told me that I have to quit smoking because they need me but with my insurance the Chantix is going to cost me 123.00 per month and it's the only way that I feel that I can quit smoking. I feel like I can't do it on my own and I can't afford the Chantix due to the Cardiologist has taken me out of work for at least the next four weeks. I feel like Chantix should be covered under all insurance plans so that people who can't quit smoking on their own can have a chance to quit smoking.
