Step Throat can be deadly to your kidneys. Did you know that a person who has been infected with strep throat is at risk of loosing their kidneys? If you have strep throat and then for a period of at least six weeks, if you are subjected to strenuous physical excercise or work, you can severely damage your kidneys into a disease called "glumerolnephritis". This is a fact. In 1966, I came down with a severe case of strep throat. About two weeks later, I was inducted into the Army. I was at the reception station for five days and then to basic on a Sunday. We started PT (physical training) on Sunday afternoon. By Wednesday, I was already bleeding from my kidneys although I did not realize it was blood I was passing in my urine that was dark brown. I was admitted to the hospital on base and lost 33 pounds in 13 days and almost died due to this disease for which there is no cure or treatment. PARENTS, take heed and remember this with your children. Any doctor will verify this. And any doctor who says it is not true should be replaced.
