I sustained a head injury from a bicycle accident when I was 11 yrs old. Grand Mal Seizures from age 11 to 18. Stabilized on Dilantin and seizure-free for approx. 30 yrs. Seizures started up again about 4-5 yrs ago. I don't have insurance and each amb & emerg room trip cost about $2,000. After about 15 seizures my bills are overwhelming. I developed Peripheral Neuropathy from the Dilantin. Dilantin was cheap and worked well for the seizures but caused extreme pain and was making the PN worse. I have been a cleaning lady for 19 yrs so I don't have insurance or own my own home. And now I need meds that don't aggravate the PN. So...will it be the frying pan or the fire?
