In this country, there are some who fall through the cracks. I am one of them. I am forced to work because SSI would only allow me $600.00 to survive on. I have many medical problems, including cancer, and I cannot even get SSI. Hard to believe, isn't it. I am forced to take a job that is easy on me because I can't compete with others, so therefore, I am paid very little. I have no insurance, for I cannot afford it. I can't afford those programs who claim to help you by discounting your medical treatment. You have to come up with all the money first and then they re-imburse you, hopefully. I don't have that kind of money, that's why I need FREE insurance. I am forced to either take it up the gazoo, or quit my job and get AHCCCS, which does not allow me anything at all for food or living. What am I to do, what are we to do? There are so many of us who fall through the cracks and cannot afford even the hope of having insurance. I was kicked off insurance back in 2000 because I had diabetes. Little did I know that it was illegal at that time to do so, never-the-less, it left a trail of, "UNINSURABLE" in my quake. No matter which way I turn, I cannot have what I desperately need, FREE INSURANCE. What now???? Let's petition the state or whereever, or, whoever, could give us these answers and help us.
