Visual Imagery Exercises
RavenCares submitted, posted 1 Year, 1 month, 1 Week, 3 days, 10 hours, 24 minutes ago
I was wondering if anybody here has ever tried visualization exercises to deal with their chronic pain? I first learned about visualization or imagery back in 1979, when I was undergoing some complex spinal surgeries. The person who taught me how to do it had me visualize in my mind's eye golden healing bands of light surrounding me. Several times a day, I would relax on my bed and picture the light bands going up and down my body. I also imagined the new bone-fusion graft material cementing itself to my spine. I was so impressed with the results of imagery that I've continued the practice in other areas of my life since then.
