Visual Imagery Exercises
RavenCares submitted, posted 1 Year, 1 month, 1 Week, 3 days, 11 hours, 43 minutes ago
I was wondering if anybody here has ever tried visualization exercises to deal with their chronic pain? I first learned about visualization or imagery back in 1979, when I was undergoing some complex spinal surgeries. The person who taught me how to do it had me visualize in my mind's eye golden healing bands of light surrounding me. Several times a day, I would relax on my bed and picture the light bands going up and down my body. I also imagined the new bone-fusion graft material cementing itself to my spine. I was so impressed with the results of imagery that I've continued the practice in other areas of my life since then.

What Medications Work for You?

I was wondering which medications everyone is using to help deal with chronic pain. What is your medication regimen? Do you use prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs, herbal remedies?

What Type of Chronic Pain Do You Suffer From?
RavenCares submitted, posted 1 Year, 2 months, 3 Weeks, 2 days, 7 hours, 36 minutes ago
I thought maybe we could introduce ourselves and share what type of chronic pain we're all dealing with here. For myself, I suffer chronic back pain. Beginning in childhood, I started undergoing spinal surgeries for scoliosis. I've had a total of 7 major spinal surgeries, including Harrington rods and body casts. Although the scoliosis was corrected pretty decently, all the surgery has left me with chronic pain. How about the rest of you? What type of pain do you have, and for how long? And how do you deal with it? ~~RavenCares
