Post topic: Why Flu Virus Prefers Winter

Scientists have long known that influenza outbreaks occur mainly in the winter months, but they haven't known why. A new study by microbiologists at New York's Mount Sinai School of Medicine indicates that it may be due to how the virus is transmitted through the air. While common colds are spread by contact with another person or a contaminated surface, influenza is transmitted through the air, in tiny floating particles. When the weather is hot and humid, such as in summer months, these tiny particles join with water droplets and fall to the ground. But when the air is dry and cold, such as in winter months, the virus particles can easily be inhaled.

Have you experienced the new test to see if you have the flu or not? They swabed my child's nose and told us while we were still in the office the results - awesome! Technology is wonderful Sissy
