Everyone knows that some foods are better for you than others, but often, the 'healthy' foods can be unappealing to the appetite. Here are some hints from diet experts to make these foods look like a feast: don't crowd items on a plate, and give each food its own space; put your moderate serving of meat or fish on top of another food for contrast; use garnishes live chives to spruce up the space between the protein (meat/fish) and the starch (rice).

Thanks for the great information on making foods look more appealing, Addie! I know that professional chefs spend a lot of time on their "plating" procedures, making sure that their meals are not only tasty but visually appealing.

And my grandmama always told me to make sure there is color variety on your plate. Don't serve broiled chicken with mashed potatoes, country gravy, cauliflower and white bread, lol. Don't serve green beans with pesto. Put some color on your plate! Make sure everything is a different color whenever possible.
